Feeling overwhelmed or facing decision fatigue while trying to plan your trip? Book a 1:1 call with me, a Portugal travel expert and planner based in Lisbon.

Every private call is different – I can help you navigate logistics, give an honest and independent opinion, and add a rich layer of recommendations and hidden gems.

I’m constantly researching and visiting the lesser-known side of Portugal so I can connect you with local traditions, little villages, artisans, regional food and gorgeous beaches worth seeing.

Book a call with me for 1:1 time to discuss your dream Portugal trip. I can review a draft itinerary, or start building your perfect trip.

Daniela in Olhão with a bougainvilleea

I’m Daniela, a travel writer based in Portugal since 2018. I’m excited to help you travel deeper and fall in love with Portugal.

Who should book a Portugal Travel Call?

Anyone planning a trip to Portugal! Whether you’re planning a solo adventure, romantic trip or family vacation, I can help you curate a tailored Portugal itinerary to fit your needs and budget.

I can…

  • Design your itinerary route from scratch
  • Give feedback on a draft Portugal itinerary
  • Brainstorm ideas to enrich your trip
  • Offer independent suggestions for hotels, tours and activities
  • Discuss logistics and suggest extra stops to maximise your time
  • Save you time reading dozens of articles or watching videos online
  • Share my extensive knowledge of food and culture in Portugal
  • Give local insights and ideas to help you travel better and deeper

While I specialise as a Portugal travel planner, I have also travelled Spain and Morocco and may be able to offer suggestions or insights too.

What's included?

50-minute video call

A private 1-on-1 video call where we can chat through your Portugal itinerary or plan your journey. I’ll give you tips and advice from a local perspective, and you can ask specific questions about logistics, neighbourhoods, culture or food in Portugal. Think of this as a session to pick my brain – I’ll be prepared, but come ready to ask questions.

Travel information document

A few days after our call, I’ll send through a document loaded with everything we spoke about. I’ll spend time gathering handy links for things like hotels and activities, guides and restaurant recommendations, depending on what we discuss. I’ll spell out the name of any hard-to-pronounce town like Olhão.

Why choose Daniela Sunde-Brown?

I’m a travel and food journalist on a personal mission to explore Portugal from top to tail, learning about local food, meeting artisans and discovering the rich culture along the way.

I’ve lived here since 2018 and like to leave no stone unturned when it comes to finding the best activities, restaurants and hotels. Beyond the obvious, as your Portugal travel planner I can add a rich layer of unusual ideas, obscure dishes, ancient crafts and local festivals to your plans.

How does a Portugal Travel Call work?

  1. Schedule a 50-minute call using my calendar.
  2. Wait for an email from me with payment details and a short questionnaire.
  3. Answer my questions and send over your draft itinerary or questions.
  4. Let’s chat all things Portugal!
  5. After the call, I’ll send follow-up notes with links, destination names and suggestions so you can start booking your dream trip. If you book the comprehensive itinerary design service, I’ll deliver a document with day-by-day plans.

FAQs

What can I ask about?

Anything related to travel in Portugal! How many days should you spend in Porto? Is Pena Palace ~really~ worth fighting the crowds for? How do I get from A to B? Where should I go for the best seafood rice? Can I recommend a special restaurant for your final night? Can I suggest small towns for a relaxed stay? What regional dishes should I try in the Algarve?

Whatever is on your mind, I will try to answer your queries – or I’ll follow up with extra research post-call. I’m independent and transparent – I’ll always give honest answers. And if I don’t have the answer, I’ll do research and follow-up.

What if I need more time?

The 50-minute Portugal Travel Call is a simple service. Think of this call as a chance to short-cut your research and get answers to pressing questions from a local. Usually we can dive deep into 2-4 topics (like food, artisans or activities) or destinations (like the Alentejo or Lisbon). The more prepared you are, the deeper and faster we can work through topics.

If you need more time, you can book a second session or book (or upgrade) to my Itinerary Design service (see below).

What other services do you offer?

I offer fully custom day-by-day itinerary design too, starting with the same 50-minute 1:1 video call. Prices are based on trip length (from €40 per day, 7-day minimum). I’ll plan each day of your trip including hotel suggestions, restaurant recommendations, and activities for each day. I deliver a comprehensive document for you to book hotels, activities etc yourself.

Can you book everything for me?

No, I’m a Portugal travel planner or advisor, not an agent – I cannot make bookings or reservations on your behalf. I will provide links to help shortcut bookings, but hitting the booking button is up to you. I also don’t offer advice on visas.
